This Friday, May 10th, is the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the completed Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick. The trail, a world-class urban bike and pedestrian path that connects Fountain Square, Indiana Ave., Mass Ave., The Canal & White River State Park, and the Wholesale District, is open 24/7.
We encourage you to get out and enjoy the more than 75 different programs and activities planned for this Friday and Saturday. Not only will you enjoy the sights and sounds along the Trail, you will be on your way to a healthier heart.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 600,000 Americans die from heart disease annually. A recent study shows that walking provides reductions in the likelihood of heart disease that are comparable to the reductions a runner receives. You can learn more about this study here
